Electrolux’s Sunny Washing Machine Might Need Too Much Sun

Just when the uses of solar energy in electronics seem to have reached their end, manufacturers from some part of the world launch products no one would have ever thought of. Electrolux is one such brand that has tried to make a new beginning for solar powered machines with their newest launch they call the Sunny Front Loading Washing Machine.
According to its name, the washing machine does need sunlight, not to dry out the scarce water left in the clothes after the spin cycle, but to heat water it uses for washing clothes. Of course, water heaters do require a large amount of energy, which we expect will only be generated if you live in near the equator. Equator or Arctic, you can always switch over to a gas-heated source when needed. Electrolux claims that this newbie can reduce your electricity consumption by as much as 40%, which if true will bring back all those extra bucks you spend for the solar panels in the form of energy savings.
The Dark Side:
With no technical details on the solar panels the washing machine is equipped with being released, we expect them not to be large enough to heat water in a couple of minutes.

This is just what I need today, my solar tubes have heated a tank of water to over 65′C. The Sunny does not come with its own solar set-up, but growing numbers of UK households have solar water heating. Its the only cost-effective way to use solar energy.
